Mike's Favorite Motorcycle Rides
The Tehachapi Local Ride
Heading out north on Sierra Hwy. from Rosamond, Ca.

This is a ride I can go on almost anytime of the year except in the dead of winter when the roads get icy at higher elevations on the slopes. It's a good scenic cruise of about 66 miles round trip to charge the battery and get the oil hot. When the wind blows hard I really have to hunker down on the Norton 850 Commando. I don't have my Harley anymore for the harder winds, so I make due on my "Snortin Norton". The older riders will recognize the term for the Norton. After passing Winfield's and Backus road, turn left or west on Silver Queen road.
