In his September 18 letter, Richard Sheldon misquotes me as claiming that I was traumatized by my own circumcision, and by having my ribs broken in a fall. I never said I was traumatized.
The point of my September 1 letter was that trauma doesn't have anything to do with it. It's not good to inflict injury upon children, even if they are too young to remember it later.
As to whether I was traumatized, I'll leave that question up to the child psychologists. However, I would ask that the next time Mr. Sheldon opens his encyclopedia, he look up the word "subconscious."
