Cannabusiness 2000
The 5th Annual CannaBusiness trade fair, will return to it's first home, Castrop-Rauxel. The event will take place September 1, 2 and 3, 2000. The organizers anticipate a smaller and higher quality fair with an even more pleasant atmosphere for the networking which takes place at the event every year. The beer garden will be expanded to take advantage of early September's warmer weather. This event will provide a valuable opportunity to network with other individuals, companies and organizations currently working with industrial hemp. In Amsterdam, the Cannabis College will host some events in the time between CannaBusiness and Bioresource Hemp (see below), including a series of topical Cannabis evenings and daytime tours of that city's Cannabis highlights.

Bioresource Hemp 2000
3rd International Symposium
The world's largest scientific-technical symposium on hemp, Bioresource Hemp, will open its doors for the third time in 2000. Participants from more than 20 countries (250 people in 1995, and 350 in 1997) visited the previous Bioresource Hemp events. For the symposium in 2000, about 400 participants are expected.
Bioresource Hemp 2000 will be held at the conference center in Wolfsburg, Germany from September 13-16, as part of the EXPO-2000 project 'Kreislaufwirtschaft' (Closed-Loop Economy). The symposium will focus on the following topics:
For the first time, the symposium program also encompasses other fiber plants such as flax, jute, and kenaf. A total of 60 to 80 technical presentations will be given. Conference languages are English and German (simultaneous translation provided).
In addition to the main conference hall, the Wolfsburg conference center offers several smaller seminar rooms which can be rented for round-table meetings. The foyer to the main presentation hall will host tables with publications and products. Of particular interest are several supporting events of Bioresource Hemp 2000:

HIA 7th Annual Convention - Canadian Outdoor Farm Show 2000
The seventh annual general meeting of hemp industry executives will take place September 8-11th and 12-14th, 2000 at the Ecology Retreat Center near Toronto. North American Industrial Hemp Council
This fifth annual meeting and conference of the North American Industrial Hemp Council (NAIHC) is your opportunity to learn more about annual industrial fiber crops and to interact with notable North American and European agricultural and industrial experts. We will join together to exchange ideas, discuss opportunities and explore the economic potential of industrial hemp for farmers and industry. The conference will allow farmers, researchers, industry and public policy makers to form educational networks for the advancement of industrial hemp as a renewable agricultural fiber.
The conference will take place on November 2-3, 2000 at the Radisson Hotel O'Hare, 6810 N. Mannheim Road, Rosemont, IL 60018. Delegates must make their own arrangements for lodging. The registration fee is $100 for NAIHC members and $150 for non-members and exhibitor booths are available for $250. Fees must be paid by October 20, 2000.

4th Santa Cruz Industrial Hemp Expo
The 2001 Santa Cruz Industrial Hemp Expo is slated for the second weekend in May, Mother's Day weekend, Saturday and Sunday, May 12 and 13 at the Civic Auditorium in Santa Cruz, California.
The two day Expo Complex includes about two thirds of Church Street alongside the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium at 307 Church Street. Over 75 booths will be featured, plus educational and historical displays, a hemp fashion show, speakers and panels.
Booth fees and indoor/outdoor floor plan continue as set for the 2000 show. Last year's booth locations for returning vendors can by arrangement be reserved for the 2001 Expo.
A Vendor Advisory is being formalized for input on show development issues, including a dedicated effort to attract additional wholesale buyers to the Expo. Buyer registration information will be made available to all vendors after the event closes.
The Santa Cruz Industrial Hemp Expo provides a positive basis for public support of hemp reintroduction, with an open to the public trade show based setting that is well organized and effectively promoted. Now established as the dominant trade show for the developing hemp industry, vendors and hemp reintroduction advocates are drawn from around the world to Santa Cruz.
