Homicide Rates 1910-1944The following are Homicide rates for the years prior to, during, and following Prohibition of alcohol in the United States (according to "Murder Statistics from Statistical Abstract of the United States", U.S. Dept. of Commerce).

modern homicide and non-negligent manslaughter rates (as recorded in the FBI Uniform Crime
Reports). These have hovered around the 9.2 +/- 1.0 per 100,000 mark for the past twenty
