Natural Hemp Products
While cotton and nylon are some of the most commonly used material when it comes to making textile goods, natural hemp products make a practical and useful alternative. There are many positive reasons to buy natural hemp products. First and foremost, it is a very good crop for the environment. It grows rapidly and grows tall, shading the ground and providing nice, rich soil in return. Its roots break up and aerate the soil, providing the perfect prerequisite for the next season’s crops.
Its counterpart cotton is considered to be one of the most environmentally destructive crops used still today, yet most manufacturers still opt to use it instead. Cotton requires a large amount of pesticides, which can cause great harm to the environment. In addition, it needs a huge amount of water, which can gather and build up in soil making it infertile and releasing toxins, not to mention water is a precious commodity that should be conserved whenever possible. Hemp on the other hand does not need as much water and is not affected by disease and pests nearly as much as cotton.
When buying natural hemp products, check to see if they were made following the proper methods. Most newer companies have worked diligently to ensure that their hemp products are certified organic. This means that no artificial pesticides, chemicals, or other harsh elements were used in both the growing and cultivation of the crops. Natural hemp fiber is very versatile, durable, and weather resistant. It can be used for anything from rope to pants to backpacks. The oil from hemp can be used for candles, lip balm, and other rich products. Look for natural hemp products in your area, or search the World Wide Web to see what kind of interesting and unique things you can find that are made out of one of the earth’s most valuable resources.
