Hemp Seed Oil
Hemp seed oil is commonly used in alternative medicine treatments. It is beneficial when taken internally and for topical purposes. This oil has been valued for its medicinal value for centuries and was originally used in ancient China. Today it is most often used to treat arthritis, Crohn’s disease, osteoporosis, premenstrual syndrome, and a number of skin disorders including eczema. Besides its use to treat many health conditions, it is also very effective in softening and improving the overall appearance of the skin. Hemp seed oil is used in a number of health and beauty products including soaps, creams, and shampoos to name a few. The product is well known for its ability to improve the condition of the hair, skin, and nails.
Hemp seed oil can be taken on a daily basis to improve overall health. The recommended dosage for adults is one to two tablespoons per day. It is best to take the oil with a meal or immediately after eating. The oil is even safe for children. Although you cannot overdose on the oil, it is still a good idea to check with your physician to determine the correct dosage amount for your child’s age and weight. Best of all, it does not have an unpleasant taste.
You can improve your health in a number of ways by using hemp seed oil. Besides taking a couple of tablespoons of the liquid daily, you can also use it as a substitute for olive oil in most recipes. It can even be used for cooking purposes as long as the oil is heated at a low temperature. It is a popular oil to use when stir-frying. However, it is important that the oil not be heated much hotter than 300 degrees. Once the oil is heated above this level, it can cause trans fatty acids to form which are not beneficial to your health.
