Drug Testing
Various situations may justify you taking a drug test. Drug testing is used by several employers and insurance agencies as a method of pinpointing individuals with a drug problem. Employers desire workers who are trustworthy and competent. Thus, periodic and random drug testing is utilized. Taking a drug test is quick and simple. For the most part, employers and agencies require you give a urine sample. Urine samples are easy. When taking a drug test, you simply provide a sample of urine in a cup. Insurance agencies may also require a blood sample.
When taking a drug test, employers and insurance agencies are testing your urine or blood for five main drugs. These include cocaine, marijuana, amphetamines, opiates, and PCP. Because these drugs are illegal, insurance agencies will not give policies to individuals who test positive for drugs. While many people consider drug testing a violation of privacy, others believe that random drug testing in the workplace is a smart move. Employee theft is on the rise. In fact, some businesses that experience a lot of theft have begun to utilize random drug testing. This has forced many drug users to stop using illegal substances.
If required to take a drug test, there is no foolproof way to conceal an existing drug habit. Some drug users have used detoxification products or attempted to dilute their urine by drinking large amounts of water. However, if done improperly, these methods are easily detected on drug tests. When subjected to random drug testing, drug users may consider weekly detoxifications and regular consumption of water. Waiting until the day of the drug test to begin cleansing your body is too late. Once the sample is sent away to the lab for analysis, high levels of water and detox products will be detected, thus ruling the test inconclusive.
