Hemp Jewelry
Although it’s illegal to grow in many countries, including the United States, hemp is commonly used to make ropes, as well as other products. One of the most popular uses of hemp is in the making of jewelry. Hemp jewelry can be found almost anywhere, from local department stores to upscale boutiques.
Hemp is an extraordinary resource and it is harvested for its fibers. Unfortunately, due to it being portrayed as marijuana, it can not be commercially harvested in the United States. The fact is that they are two very different types of Cannabis. While it can not be harvested in the US, it can in fact, be imported into the United States and many companies are purchasing these fibers to make hemp jewelry and other items of interest to the public.
Hemp jewelry first became popular back in the 60’s and like other items from that time period, it is now back in style. Many such items of hemp jewelry are popular, not just with teens, but with adults, as well. Many remember these items from their past and are happy to find that they are back in style.
Making your own hemp jewelry is quite popular, as well. You can find supplies at almost any craft store and it is quite easy to do. While hemp cord, which is what is used to make the jewelry, used to come in beige only, it now comes in a variety of colors. This will allow you to make bright and colorful necklaces, bracelets, and even rings.
Hemp jewelry can be found in many stores, however, making your own hemp jewelry is not only fun, it can be quite lucrative, as well. Many individuals make their own hemp jewelry and have been known to sell them at flea markets, as well as supplying stores with their products.
