Hemp Clothing
There are many different reasons why buying and wearing hemp clothing is beneficial to both the consumer and to the earth. Hemp is one of the oldest growing cultivated crops. In fact, researchers place it as far back as 8,000 years ago, and it is considered to be one of the first harvested crops ever grown by man. Even some United States Presidents grew hemp. George Washington and Thomas Jefferson both grew it, and during World War II the US government had farmers grow about a million acres of hemp as part of a special law. Today, the United States is still struggling with laws against growing hemp. Over 30 other countries around the world grow, cultivate, and use hemp for a variety of things, particularly clothing. It is eco-friendly and a good way to show others you support our environment. Hemp clothing is a very popular choice when it comes to all natural, durable fibers.
There are all kinds of things including accessories that can be made from hemp. Pants, shirts, hats, belts, wallets, and even sweaters can be woven from hemp. The material is very durable and can last for many years. Hemp fibers are exceptionally strong, and when made using the right processes, can be very soft and comfortable. The material is also very breathable which is great for summer or winter wear. It can be dyed with any color of the rainbow and makes for a wonderfully unique material. Hemp clothing can be purchased in boutiques as well as online. There are hundreds of wonderful online stores that sell hemp clothing and accessories, so take a look around and see if you can find the styles that are right for you, all while wearing something that is good for the environment, comfortable, and will last a very long time.
