Prilosec Eases Heartburn
For people who are accustomed to popping antacids for their chronic heartburn, the answer might just be one pill away. Prilosec is an actual proton pump that gets to the root of heartburn and stops annoying acids before they start. Prilosec reduces the amount of acids in the stomach and can help ease the symptoms of acid reflux disease and an erosive esophagus. Those who have heart burn constantly can finally find relief that has been eluding them for perhaps many years. Of course, many people recommend cutting out coffee, spicy and greasy foods, but many people do not respond to changes in diet and simply have chronic heartburn. Prilosec does away with the need for constant antacid doses, because it stops the problem before it starts and allows you to take only one pill a day.
You should beware of some warning signs, since a mild heart attack can be mistaken for a heartburn. If you also have chest pains, feel dizzy and have trouble breathing, you should go to a doctor immediately. If your heartburn lasts for a number of months, you should also see your doctor about the problem and try to get at the root of it, rather than rely on medication. However, Prilosec is relatively safe and effective, with very few known side effects. A very few people experience nausea and indigestion after taking Prilosec, but this is only a few. Prilosec can be taken for an extended period of time for the treatment of heartburn and acid reflux.
However, you should visit a doctor frequently to try to get to the bottom of your problem with heartburn. Perhaps you problem is diet, or frequent stress or maybe you have a stomach complaint that needs to be treated. Your doctor should be able to verify what kind of problem you have and if you should continue taking Prilosec or if you should switch to another treatment.
