Viagra Generic
There are a few different Viagra generic brands that can be used instead of Viagra. One of them, Cialis, is the third drug approved by the FDA to treat erectile dysfunction. It has the same effects as Viagra but it claims to work faster and it lasts for 36 hours, opposed to the four hours the Viagra lasts for.
Cialis was approved by the FDA in November 2003. Since then, Pfizer's Viagra has taken a financial hit. The half life of Cialis is the major factor that sets it apart from Viagra. Viagra Generic is slightly different from Cialis because true generic versions of Viagra still have the four hour effectiveness and are derived from sildenafil citrate.
Tadalafil tablets, which is what Cialis is, are yellow and almond shaped. They are prescribed in five, ten and twenty milligram dosage. The drug works by inhibiting and enzyme that is present in the smooth muscles of the penis. It relaxes the blood vessels, just like Viagra does and allows blood flow and an erection to occur.
The difference in taking Cialis and Viagra is the a second dose of Cialas should not be taken within 48 hours of the last dose. Since it lasts for 36 hours, another dose should not be needed in this time period.
It is very important to know which Viagra generic is being taken. If patients start on generic Viagra they should stick with that brand. While generic Viagra has worked to bring joy to many users, one must be careful when using this drug.
Never abruptly switch from Viagra to generic Viagra. First, consult the doctor and ask if it would be okay to change to generic Viagra and find out if there is a big price difference. Remember, all Viagra generic is not necessarily cheaper than Viagra. There are benefits and drawbacks to taking any of the erectile dysfunctions medications that are on the market. Find out which one is best.
